METHOD & SOURCES

How the calculation works.

Supported: 20-credit TAS subjects only. For 10-credit subjects, AIF, recognised studies or restricted combinations, use SATAC’s rules with your school. This calculator does not certify eligibility.

01

Use your scaled scores

SATAC scales raw assessment scores, not letter grades. There is no reliable grade-to-scaled-score conversion. Find your scores on your Tertiary Entrance Statement.

02

Your strongest results count

For the 20-credit TAS subjects supported here, we count your best four scores plus half of your fifth. Extra subjects can replace lower results.

03

A rank, not a mark

Your ATAR compares your performance with others. Adjustment points affect university selection ranks, not your ATAR.

Eligibility, supported subjects & sources

This tool supports distinct 20-credit Tertiary Admissions Subjects (TAS) only. It does not handle 10-credit subjects, recognised studies, valid pairs or confirm SACE completion, precluded combinations, counting restrictions or the three-attempt rule. Confirm your subjects and eligibility with your school.

SATAC advises that historical tables cannot accurately predict future ATARs. The 2026 conversion table is due in December 2026.
